Undercover investigation results in drug arrest in Burkesville, KY By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Edmonton, KY BURKESVILLE, KY - An undercover investigation involving the units from Post 15 and officers from the Columbia HIDTA Task Force has led to the arrest of 49-year-old Philip L. Williams, of Burkesville. Williams was arrested on Monday, May 12, 2014 at approximately 3:55pmCT, in the limits of Burkesville and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana < 8 ounces and No Seatbelt. Approximately $7500 and a 2009 Chevy Cobalt were seized. Williams was lodged in the Adair County Jail. Arrested and charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking was Ashley Akin; w/f; age 34. Akin was lodged in the Taylor County Jail. Police warn all citizens to be diligent in locking their cars. Former Adair FFA Presidents recognized at WKU, UK Katie Royse (ACHS 2009) and Karli Jessie (ACHS 2012) By Kirby Hancock FFA Advisor, Adair County High School Two two former students of mine who have excelled in college recently. Karli Jessie. (PHOTO) She served as Adair County FFA president in 2012. She was recently recognized as Outstanding Sophomore in the UK College of Agriculture, Food, and the Environment. at the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture. She has been on the Dean's List at UK for the past two years. Her parents are David and Holly Jessie. I have attached a pic of her with her award as well as some information about her involvement in college. Katie Royse (PHOTO) who served as FFA president in 2009. She is graduating from Western Kentucky University this year in Agriculture Education. Katie is the daughter of Mark Royse and Jan Royse. She recently received the Outstanding Agriculture Education Student Award.
