He mentioned his father managed a poultry plant there, and that there were also two restaurants, and even a movie house. Would love to know if any of the readers have any old pictures or information on any of these facilities. Thanks!! --Dave Burton 2014-02-17 11:52:09 | Comments | Printable version

Says underpass to KY 80 still in use at time of explosion Comments re article 65357 Larry Walker details fatality gas explosion in Columbia KY Lee Ann Sullivan writes: Ed, I think the underpass off KY 80 was still in use at the time Mr. Webb was killed in this home explosion. I remember my Dad talking that he had just left the station going home. It was a very short time when he heard the explosion and went to the scene. - Lee Ann SullivanThanks, Lee Ann Sullivan: Interesting: the term "underpass" and I take you mean, "tunnel." That's what I remember, and wondered by it was ever taken out when it was so badly needed to this day and when there are tunnels to wilderness elsewhere. Others say there wasn't a tunnel, just a construction cut. Does anyone know for sure? - EW 2014-02-17 01:49:16 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Local History
