The Changing Face of Fairground Street

2013-09-14 - 400 Block of Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
As site work continues on parking areas the face of Fairground Street is rapidly changing, with few reminders of the residences which once lined the road. The steps and retaining wall are vestiges of one of Columbia's memorable residences, the Hunn House, later the home of one of Adair County's most colorful entrepreneurs, Jim Walker Burton. The structure dominating the scene, center, is the Goodin Building, home of Lindsey Wilson's School of Nursing and School of Professional Counseling.
