Powerhouse LWC Volleyball hosts Shawnee State, at 2pmCT In their only meeting last season, Lindsey Wilson swept the Bears 3-0 behind 12 kills from Taylor Hayne. Courtney Doyle added eight kills in the win. By Jay Nicols COLUMBIA, KY - The nationally 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College Volleyball team hosts Shawnee State University (Portsmouth, OH) 2pmCT/3pmET, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY, in a Mid-South Conference game. Lindsey Wilson (12-0; 3-0 MSC) continues to build on their best start in program history by sweeping University of Rio Grande (Rio Grande, Ohio) 25-13, 25-15, 25-16 on Thurdsday night. It is also the second time in program history that Lindsey Wilson started 3-0 in MSC play, matching last year's team. The Blue Raiders Nadelina Nesheva had her second consecutive match with 20 or more kills and is currently averaging 3.73 kills per set this season. Nesheva had a .731 hitting percentage in the Blue Raiders win over Rio Grande, going 21-26. Lindsey Wilson is currently ranked seventh in the NAIA in hitting percentage (.281) and 10th in blocks per game with 2.49. Sarah Anderson ranks 19th in the NAIA with .369 hitting percentage. Alexa Just is averaging just over nine assists per game and leads the Blue Raiders with 390 assists. Shawnee State (4-2; 1-1 MSC) lost to Campbellsville (KY) University in its last match, 3-1. Tiffany Jackson and Paige Zelich both had 10 kills in the match. Kristi Humble had three blocks to go with her six kills. Zelich leads the team with 56 kills. Hannah Gephart has a team best 92 assists on the season. In their only meeting last season, Lindsey Wilson swept the Bears 3-0 behind 12 kills from Taylor Hayne. Courtney Doyle added eight kills in the win. Saturday afternoons match will be streamed live on Stretch Internet and live stats will also be available through NAIA DakStats.
