2013-02-19 - ACMS, 322 Gen. John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo Adair School Staff. ACMS Lead Custodian Tony Durban and Assistant Principal Donna Owens - These two individuals are responsible for making Cumberland County students and faculty feel at home yesterday, February 18, 2013, after an emergency evacuation following a fire at a hardware store in close proximity to the school campus. Students were bused to the campus of Adair County Schools where they were welcomed by Assistant Principal Donna Owens and Tony Durbin, Lead Custodian. Mr. Alan Reed, Superintendent stopped by the school today February 19, 2013, to personally thank Ms. Owens and Mr. Durbin for the hospitality and kindness shown to the students during their hour and a half forced visit. "I received a note from Mr. Glen Murphy, Superintendent thanking Ms. Brenda Mann and Mr. David Jones for helping our neighboring school district out in a pinch," said Reed. "Ms. Mann and Mr. Jones in told me that it was the middle school employees who went the extra mile to make sure the students were well cared for. I'm glad we could help out and I thank Ms. Owens and Mr. Durbin." Adair County Schools were not in session but Owens and Durbin were both working in their building when the fire occurred in Burkesville, forcing the evacuation of Cumberland County Schools.
