Messiah Concert: A huge success!

Accolades continue to arrive for an unforgettable evening at Columbia Baptist Church.

By Charles Marshburn

A huge success! Hopefully, this will be an annual event and perhaps more of the "Messiah" will be sung at Easter. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the singing.

The crowd filled the sanctuary. The choral director looked pleasantly surprised at the number of folks who attended. you weren't there, you missed out on a moving experience. - Charles Marshburn

A review: For Glorious time at Monday night's Messiah Sing!

'I may run out of superlatives, but the sing lifted this ol' man's heart. . . We enjoyed it immensely and I'm sure the Lord was there appreciating the praise to His name. ' - DOUG McCAMMISH
A review of Messiah Sing, performance Monday evening, December 3, 2012, at a packed sanctuary at Columbia Baptist Church.

By Doug McCammish

What a Glorious Time at the Messiah Sing Monday night! If you missed it, you may have to wait another 14 years.

The Commonwealth Musicians were wonderful, the LWC Singers were outstanding, and the soloists were fantastic.

Gloria Moore's solo, "Rejoice Greatly, O Daughter of Zion," was magnificent and she sang from her heart.

Jessica Cranmer did a beautiful job on an alto solo

Caitlyn Harrod, Chelsea Pike, and Abigail Calhoun did wonderfully on some "recitatives".

Ben Martin did very well on a base solo that has always been one of my favorites.

And Dr. Bob Reynolds. What a treasure! He hid behind the piano and is so modest that I don't think he even took a bow.

I know the choruses were beautiful because the Singers provided 99% of the sound (and probably 100% of the right notes), but the "volunteer" singers in the packed house did well also.

We enjoyed it immensely and I'm sure the Lord was there appreciating the praise to His name. - Doug McCammish
