ACES takes 1st Place in KY Colonels Show Case competition Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Mary Ann McQuaide On Saturday, December 1, 2012, the Adair County Elementary School (ACES) academic team competed in the 2012 Kentucky Colonels Show Case for academic competitions. After some very tough competition, ACES came away with a 1st place finish over-all with 74.5 points. Campbellsville Middle School was 2nd with 56.5 points, Green County Middle was 3rd with 49 points, and Metcalfe County Middle was 4th with 14 points. In over-time, ACES Quick Recall earned a 1st place finish. Several students won individual medals. They are: Math - 3rd Sherica Burton. Science - 4th Trevor Smith, and 1st Jaiden Taylor. Arts and Humanities - 6th Riley Jo Cowan, and 2nd Trevor Smith. Social Studies - 6th Chandler Wisdom, 4th Meghan Higgins, and 1st Natalie Taylor. Language Arts - 5th Hannah Hoots, 2nd Mallory Powell, and 1st Alex Lara. Quick Recall team members are: Sherica Burton, Riley Jo Cowan, Baylor Giles, Cameron Grant, Meghan Higgins, Hannah Hoots, Alex Lara, Mallory Powell, Trevor Smith, Jaiden Taylor, Natalie Taylor, and Chandler Wisdom.
