Adair, Russell and Boyle County make it to State band finals

With Shamarie Claiborne update from on the road

Jo Ann Curry has just written at 3:21pmCT, that Adair County, Russell County, and Boyle County have all made it to the State Finals of the KMEA Kentucky State Marching Band Championships in Louisvllle. The finals will be in the University of Louisville Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, located 2800 South Floyd in Louisville, KY.

Shamarie Claiborne called from on the road from Brandenburg to Papa John's to add Bourbon County (Directed by Adair County Alumnus Eric Hale, Ron Hale's son), to the list of finalist bands.

The competition starts at 6pmET/5pmCT. Class AAA competition starts at 8pmET/7pmCT.

Adair County will play in the last slot in the Class AAA competition, at 8:45pmET/7:45pmCT.

The band will be staying overnight in Louisville, after the competition. They leave Louisville Sunday morning at 10:15 Columbia time.

LWC Homecoming Parade starts at 10amCT today

Saturday morning, November 7, 2009

The Lindsey Wilson College Homecoming Parade starts at 10amCT from the top of Lindsey Wilson Hill. The parade route goes down Lindsey Wilson Street, the left, or south, onto Campbellsville Street, then three-quarters of the way around the Columbia Public Square, then goes south on Jamestown Street. The fall weather is beautiful this morning. Almost any point along the way makes for great viewing.

Large Crowd attends dairy meeting at Lindsey Wilson

Over 140 dairymen at SUDIA meeting at Cranmer Dining Center. Floyd Roy recognized with certificates for winning the 2009 Kentucky Milk Quality Award, including presentations by Adair County CJE Ann Melton and Rep. Bam Carney. SUDIA District Chairman Billy Rowe, KY Dairy Development Council Director Maury Cox speak on issues and opportunities for industry.

LWC Men's Basketball wins opener 80-58 over Roberts Wesleyan

Eric McPherson has 22 points, 20 in second half. Adair County basketball hero Darren Ballou has strong second half, scoring six points and two rebounds. LWC Men play University of Michigan/Dearborn tonight at Biggers Sports Center.

COLUMBIA, KY - Senior guard Eric McPherson exploded for 20 second-half points on his way to 22 for the game as Lindsey Wilson College opened its season with an 80-58 win over Roberts Wesleyan (NY) College on Friday at Biggers Sports Center in the LWC Homecoming Classic.
