Gardeners: It's not too early in year for sunburn!

Lesson learned the hard way at Tucker's Station

By Barbara Armitage, Adair County Garden Club

While the calendar may be declaring that it is still officially Winter Mother Nature seems to have her own ideas. According to my official weather source, namely my husband Wayne, this promises to be a great weekend to get out into the garden.

Not being a patient woman I spent the day out doors yesterday and really accomplished quite a lot and the evidence is right here on my face. I look like I flunked out of clown school. I forgot my sunscreen and now I have bright red cheeks and a clown nose.

The members of the Adair County Garden Club want to remind you that even though the temperature is cool and the sun doesn't feel hot you still need to wear sunscreen when you are out of doors. Be sure to apply it to all exposed skin, and that includes Wayne's cute little bald head frequently throughout the day.
