KY Dept of Transportation made at "terrible" mistake in the 1950s on one of their road maps which "changed" Pettit's Fork to "Petty's" Fork. Mike Watson Thanks so much for this important information. I used to know better, but kept thinking I was wrong when I saw the other spelling on maps and in news accounts. Feedback: Thank you for your response, Mr. Hare Writer says whether runway is 4,000' or 5,000', it will be a great asset for growth To read article to which this comment addressed, Click Here To the editor, Columbia-Magazine.com: You are right in the fact that until something like this hits home it is really hard to understand why we on the Air Board are so insistent that we do things in a certain way. It is this insistence that has gotten us to this point that the state has seen our desire to affect change for the benefit of all Adair Countians, not just a few interested in a quick buck. Comment: Good to see progress being made on airport extension Because plane couldn't land at CAC Airport, an extra hour was needed to get child to Kosair. Luckily, this episode ended OK. Who knows what tragedy may occur because of runway length? By Joe Hare It is good to see some progress being made on the airport extension. Although the article does not state what length is hoped to be added, I am in hope that we will have at least a total of 5000 feet of runway. Week before last I encountered a personal experience that showed a real need for more runway.
