Fiscal Court taking bids to demolish Old Icehouse Entirely new building will be constructed at site The Adair County Fiscal Court is advertising for bids to demolish the Old Columbia Icehouse to make way for the new Adair County Enhanced 911 Center to be built on the North High Street site. The advertisement carries a deadline for bid submission of 7:00pm, October 9, 2007, which is the time of the regular October meeting of Fiscal Court. The bids will be opened publicly and read aloud.The winning contractor will have 30 days to clear the lot after fiscal court awards the bid. Secretary Grayson urges rotating regional primaries Idea would restore order to presidential candidate selection; Secretary Gayson syas it would let Kentuckians voices be heard, too "This is the right problem to be solving." Those words by Ranking Member Senator Bob Bennett (R-Utah) explained the urgency of the need to address the front-loading of the presidential primary process in the United States. Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, co-chair of the National Association of Secretaries of State's (NASS) Presidential Primary Sub-Committee, appeared before the U.S. Senate Rules and Administration Committee, today, to voice support for the Rotating Regional Primary Plan, a plan adopted by NASS to address this issue. S. 1905, the "Regional Presidential Primary and Caucus Act of 2007," is a tri-partisan bill that closely mirrors the plan supported by NASS. Columba Womans Club will collect books at Health Fair The Columbia Woman's Club members will collect used children's books at the Health Fair. The books will be placed in the waiting rooms of the hospital or clinics, or they may be used/read when visiting sick children in the hospital. Look for the Columbia Woman's Club table to deposit any used books. No Child Left Behind scores are in, and are downright curious Number of schools not making target goals for adequate yearly progress is down from 3 in 2006 to 1 in 2007, but District's overall rating is lower in 2007. District is appealing some scores. Special factors, including prison resident who are 100 day enrollees, included in average and depress scores. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center atrium. She did it in a big way, firing a 41, to gain a 7 stroke margin over her Clinton County opponent. The Adair Girls' Golf Team lost to Clinton County, dropping the team's match record to 11-7. Adair County had defeated Clinton County earlier in the season by 9 shots.
