ACHS open house is Monday, August 6, 2007 Adair County High Schools Open House will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm CT at Adair County High School. All ACHS students and parents are invited to attend. Parents of incoming freshmen are especially encouraged to attend in order to fill out necessary forms. Sarah Burton wins Miss Montgomery Co. Fair at Mt. Sterling, KY Adair Countian will compete in Miss Kentucky County Fair in Louisville in January. She's a graduate of Russell County High because the Russell Springs school offered swimming and ACHS does not. This fall, she'll be a sophomore at UL with the goal of becoming a Federal Criminal investigator. Thanks, from the Dream Depot The cast of "Oldies but Goodies," would like to thank everyone for their great support.We have really loved doing this show. I think it has been a good stress reliever for us (the cast) as well as the audience. I don't think we've ever had a show where people has laughed so much! People have asked us to do this one again and be thinking about a sequel, so for now we will be doing this one again Saturday night, July 28, 2007, at 7:00pm. Reservations have already started coming in so don't get left out. For ticket reservations call (270) 634-2894 or 250-4064. More then likely this will be the last time we will be doing this one for now as we have other shows scheduled for the month of August. Special thanks to an heard but not seen performer, Shawn Samuell. We would also like to thank other members of the Dream Depot for doing the jobs we normally do while we perform; Jennifer Biggs, sound; Jenny, Austin and Jacob Cundiff, Neal Sneed, Greg Blair, and Jackie Brown, concessions; Debbie Bell, cashier; Mackie Jo Pennington, Adam Redmon and Wesley England, seating; and Caleb Brown, videos. Bradsfordville gets $500,000 block grant for Seniors Center Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to the City Of Bradfordsville in Marion County for renovations of the first floor of the Bradfordsville School to make a permanent home for the Bradfordsville Senior Center. Bradsfordville is approximately 22 miles from Casey Creek, Adair County, KY. "As our population gets older, it is critical to have a place and opportunity for our seniors to continue to stay active and lead healthy lifestyles," said Governor Fletcher. "This renovation is a win-win situation for the Bradfordsville School and seniors in the community." Cyclist airlifted to UK Medical Center afer crash near WCD A Russell County motorcyclist, Dwight W. Richards, 41, Jamestown, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center Sunday afternoon, after a crash two miles north of the Wolf Creek Dam. Richards was traveling on U.S. 127 on a 1993 Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control and struck a guard rail. The accident occurred July 22, 2007, at 4:00pm CT.
