Leadership group formed in 2004, graduates new group, prepares to begin again

"Margaret Mead said 'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has' ... we are proud to present the graduates of L.E.A.D. Adair County, the class of 2005-2006: Corey Finn, Shelia Blair, Melissa Feese, Krisitn Goodin, Randy Hadley, Patty Jones, and Amy Pike." - Lee Ann Jessee
Lee Ann Jessee's speech to the Chamber of Commerce banquet audience Tuesday night:
On September 2004 a group of Adair Countians departed for Berea Kentucky to work 3 days at the Brushy Fork Institute. We didn't know what to expect or even what was expected of us. We did work from early morning until late at night. We experienced new ways to conduct meetings and ways not to conduct meetings and we became familiar with consensus and self-investment in your community. We were encouraged strongly by Jane Higgins and the staff to leave our comfort zones and step into roles that we had never seen ourselves in.

Taylor County Man arrested for Adair horse trailer theft

Only cosmetic damage to trailer. $1,200 saddle also recovered, Sheriff Cheatham says. Investigation into thefts widens with authorities from Adair, Taylor, and Marion coordinating efforts in other stolen property cases.
An arrest has been made in connection with the theft of the Horse Trailer stolen on April 14, 2006, from the residence of Randy and Sandy Curry's on South KY 61, Columbia, KY.

The trailer had apparently suffered no physical damage except for the removal of the words "Shady Farm Acres" from the lettering. "Only the word 'Farm,' remained," Sheriff Steve Cheatham said. "But everything else appeared to be okay. Even the $1,200 saddle that was in the trailer when it was taken was recovered," he said.
