Taylor County Man arrested for Adair horse trailer theft Only cosmetic damage to trailer. $1,200 saddle also recovered, Sheriff Cheatham says. Investigation into thefts widens with authorities from Adair, Taylor, and Marion coordinating efforts in other stolen property cases. An arrest has been made in connection with the theft of the Horse Trailer stolen on April 14, 2006, from the residence of Randy and Sandy Curry's on South KY 61, Columbia, KY. The trailer had apparently suffered no physical damage except for the removal of the words "Shady Farm Acres" from the lettering. "Only the word 'Farm,' remained," Sheriff Steve Cheatham said. "But everything else appeared to be okay. Even the $1,200 saddle that was in the trailer when it was taken was recovered," he said. Tuesday, April 18, Adair County Deputy Sheriff Tracy McCarol stopped a vehicle being operated by Joey Pittman, 26, Campbellsville, KY, on KY 76, Elkhorn. In Taylor County, Pittman was then taken into custody by Taylor County authorities and was charged with receiving stolen property over $300. Other stolen property was also discovered at Pittman's residence, the Adair County Sheriff's Office reported. The investigation is continuing by Adair, Taylor, and Marion authorities. Other arrests and or indictments are pending, the Sheriff's Office reported. This story courtesy Adair Sheriff's Office in Old Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY 42728. Phone 270-384-2776.
