The Second Get Up, Get Out, Get Fit, Get Moving Adair County and Weight the Reality Series starts April 3, 2006, at 5:30 at the Adair County Extension Office on Fairground Street.

Registration begins March 13, 2006, at the Extension office and ends March 24, 2006.

Anne Braden, who was to have spoken in Columbia, dies; she was a major civil rights leader

Anne Braden, who was supposed to come to Columbia at Lindsey Wilson College in a few days, a major civil rights leader, and a friend has died.

She passed away at 5:00AM EST in Louisville.

The hard working Cane Valley Christian Church Relay For Life team is putting onanother of those great steak or chicken dinners.

The Valentine's Dinner got such good reviews and so many request for them to do it again that it is back Saturday, March 18, 2006. This time it is "Spring Fling in the Valley.

The East Eighty Indoor Percussion Line competed in a Tri State Circuit for the Pageantry Arts competition Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Butler Traditional High School in Louisville where they placed 1st in their class.

Red Cross Emergency Response class signup is underway

Deadline to register for the course is March 17 for class beginning March 22, 2006)

Sign-up for the Red Cross Emergency Response training which will be offered at Knifley Area Voluntary Fire Department starting later this month is now underway.

This training will begin on March 22, 2006 and end on April 29, 2006. The location will be announced after the class size is determined. The class will either beheld in the basement of the EMS building or at the Rescue Squad.

This past week six people from Adair County Emergency Management and Regional 12 HazMat / WMD Respond Team traveled to New Mexico to attend a six day course titled " Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents (PRSBI) sponsored by US Homeland Security.

Injury accident in KSP Post 15 area sends one to Springview Hospital

A one-car injury accident resulted in the hospitalization of Justin Boblett, 23, Frankfort, KY.

Boblett was westbound in a 1991 Dodge on Polin RD, 6 miles west of Willisburg in Washington CO, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
