He was the owner and operator of a tractor trailer for several years. Mr. Workman professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a native of Chicago, IL, and a resident of Greensburg, KY, at the time of his death there. He leaves two direct living descendants.

Cremation rites were accorded Mr. Workman by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. There was no public visitation.

Sonny recognized the photo as being Brown's Drugstore. He, Ray Hutchinson, Allen Reams and Tommy Breeding would walk down town from the Grade school. They spent a lot of time drinking Cokes, talking to the girls, Jean Austin Flatt, Peggy Janes and Gail Monroe, to name a few. Metcalfe County Wet-Dry vote is Tue 28 Jun 2016

EDMONTON, KY (10 Jun 2016) - A Wet-Dry vote has been set for Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Metcalfe County, KY, on the question:
"Are you in favor of the sale of alcoholic beverages in Metcalfe County, Kentucky?"
The wording is the same as that on the successful vote in Adair County, KY on March 5, 2016.

The election was ordered by Judge Executive Greg Wilson after 680 signatures were validated by the Metcalfe County Clerk, well in excess of the 589 needed get the question on the ballot.

I remember it was drug store in the back which served Ice cream on the right side of photo. It was on the corner of Greensburg Street and the square, which Mackie Jo's Photo shop is now, beside Charles Grimsley's jewelry store today. Don't remember the name of it. --Margaret Feese Margaret Feese, for the first to send a guess on the old store interior. We'll post a link to it on the photo. The answer is spot on as to the type of business, but this is a different business. The store you are referring to was Young's Rexall, owned by Mr. Garnett Young, and it was in a slightly different era - by at least one decade or more. - EW

Richard (Ricky) Robison, 61, Taylor County, KY (1954-2016)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville and held several advance technical certifications at Parker-Kalon where he worked for over 36 years. He was a member of Elk Horn Masonic Lodge, an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He could play a number of musical instruments and wrote and performed several songs. His wife, Audrey Herron Robison, survives

FRANKFORT, KY (10 Jun 2016) - The early days of June were filled with some exciting announcements in the 16th Senatorial District as Governor Matt Bevin and several other elected officials were at Russell County High School announcing the Kentucky Dual Credit Scholarship Plan. I had the privilege of working with the Education Cabinet and the KHEAA on this important program, which is a golden opportunity for our students to explore which pathway is best for them, be it college preparatory or career and technical readiness, by taking dual credit courses at no expense to our eligible high school seniors.

After making several medical trips back and forth to Campbellsville, I have concerns that Hiway 55 is dangerous to travel now and will be super dangerous when completed.

Cutting a foot off of the width of each lane is ridiculous.

Indictments brought against 4 individuals from Greensburg, Campbellsville, and Paducah, KY for charges including possession of forged instrument, welfare fraud, receiving stolen property, and persistent felony offender..

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

2016 Adair County Fair: 16 tables available for Give-A-Ways

All prizes will be given away last night of the fair

The Adair County Fair is scheduled to begin June 25 with a Fun Horse Show. Organizations who wish to reserve a table in the Give-A-Way Area may call Cynthia Rowe at 270-384-5431 for details. A few of the 16 tables have already been reserved.

Table renters are required to give away an item valued at at least $50. Rental is $50 per table, and renters get two passes for every night of the fair, up to a $140 value in itself. All drawings will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

Columbia man leads police on two county, high speed chase

It started at 7:30amCT, this morning: Incident starts on Jamestown Street in Columbia, KY. Fleeing 1996 Toyota takes many diversions through several different city streets before turning onto KY 80 - Russell Road - into Russell County where Russell Springs and Russell County units joined in the chase. Fugitive makes series of turns to return to KY 80 west toward Columbia, with the chase finally coming to an end six miles east of Columbia. Operator arrested, lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.
An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The incident occurred this morning around 7:30amCT, when CPD Ofc. John Dial attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 1996 Toyota Camry traveling south on Jamestown Street.

KSP charges Scott Countian in child sexual exploitation

The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect communicating with minors on a popular social networking website.
Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

Robert Paul (Bob) Rotschi, 82, Taylor Co., KY (1933-2016)

He served in the US Army infantry in Korea and Japan and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was the founder and former Commander of the local DAV Chapter and originated the local observances of Memorial and Veteran Days. A chef, he was a member of the Long Island Culinary Association. His memberships also included Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Civil Service Employees Association of New York. He was a Pigeon Fancier and Pigeon Monger and a member of the Louisville Pigeon Club. He was the widower of Georgina Huber Rotschi. He leaves 12 direct living descendants.

FRANKFORT, KY (9 Jun 2016) - The gorgeous weather combined with warming, but tolerable, temperatures make June one of the best months to be outside. The wonderful weather drives hordes of largemouth bass anglers to waters across Kentucky, filled with anticipation of catching a couple of five pounders.

Often, at the end of a day of fishing in perfect weather, they only have a few 12-inch fish to show for their efforts. Despite the great conditions for humans, June is a transitional time for largemouth bass.

COVINGTON, KY (9 Jun 2016) - A Cincinnati man has admitted in federal court that he conspired to provide illicit drugs to a woman who then died of an overdose.

Michael Howard, 41, pleaded guilty yesterday, before U.S. District Judge Amul Thapar, to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and morphine that resulted in death.
