Basketball: Indians in 20th District Championship game By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer On Friday, the Adair County Indians Boys Varsity Basketball team will face the Taylor County Cardinals (22-9) at Campbellsville High School with a 20th District Championship on the line. This will be the fourth time the Indians have faced the Cardinals this season, and the fourth different court they have done so on. Adair County defeating Taylor County at home and at Marion County, before losing to them on the road. Adair County is also no stranger to facing Taylor County in the 20th District Final--the past three 20th District Championship games featured these two teams. When you have already played a team three times in one season there is not much analysis left to be done. Both teams played relatively tight first round games with Taylor getting by Campbellsville 60-49, and Adair bagging a six-point win over Marion. The game tonight will be about who can come on to a neutral floor and execute the best. Adair County was able to do that against Taylor County on January 10 in Lebanon, and they have it in them to do so again. The game gets underway at 6pmCT on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Paul Coop Gymnasium on the campus of Campbellsville High School, 230 West Main, Campbellsville, KY. Tickets are available at hometownticketing.com. Be there and be loud! 2026-02-27 13:29:58 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Sports

Mugisha Constance wins 2026 Edition of Lindsey Idol By Duane Bonifer Freshman Mugisha Constance won the 2026 "Lindsey Idol" by performing in front of three lively near-capacity audiences in Lindsey Wilson University's Norma and Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship. She prepared for her big moment on the musical stage, however, by relying on the power from the solitude she found in the sanctuary of the university's John B. Begley Chapel. Constance, a psychology and human services and counseling double major from Louisville, Kentucky, was voted the winner of the 22nd "Lindsey Idol" on Thursday, Feb. 26. Freshman Lara Moraes Lima Dorea of Salvador, Brazil, placed second and senior Gage Carnes of Jamestown, Kentucky, finished third. The other two finalists in the contest sponsored by the Lindsey Wilson Student Government Association were freshman Kamilah Nana and senior Sabrina Ruiz, both of Louisville. Basketball: Indians defeat Marion Co. 82-76 By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the Adair County Indians Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated the Marion County Knights 82-76 in the first round of the 20th District Tournament at Campbellsville High School. The Indians were spurred on by Dawson Gilbert, who posted a massive 34 points to lead the team. He was followed by Landon Blakey with 19, John Shehan with 17, and Tylin George with 10. Blakey posted a double-double, leading the rebounding with a remarkable 18. He was followed by Shehan with six, and Gilbert and George pulled down five each. The team shot 51% from the floor, but just 15% from three point range. The Tribe will look to shoot the ball from beyond the arc better as they face the Taylor County Cardinals (22-9) in the 20th District Final on Friday back at Campbellsville High School. The Indians are now officially dancing on to the region, but they can help out their chances for a better draw with a win on Friday. 2026-02-27 09:57:02 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Sports
LWU students help celebrate Read Across Adair County By Duane Bonifer Kaylei Neat and Hailey Rowe remember what it was like to be first-graders who were enchanted and entertained when Lindsey Wilson University students visited Adair County schools to celebrate Read Across Adair County. This year, the Lindsey Wilson freshmen from Columbia helped more than 300 visitors to Adair County Primary School enjoy the 24th edition of the celebration of reading, which was held Thursday, February 26, 2026. "I remember being with my parents and walking around, and it seemed so big," said Rowe, who is an elementary education major. "It's a little weird walking around as an adult and being some of 'those people.'" Rowe handed out pencils and trinkets to children and their family members, while Neat distributed complimentary candy. The two were among more than 50 Lindsey Wilson students who helped at this year's event, which has become a big one for Adair County Primary Center and Adair County Elementary School.
