Some information about campaign signs

From Sheriff Gary Roy
Adair County Sheriff's Office

I have had citizens and political candidates to reach out to me regarding campaign signs. Campaign signs that are placed on private property can be removed by the owner of the property. Campaign signs that are on right of ways will be removed by the State Transportation Cabinet and the County Road Department.

I have spoken with both the state and county road crews and as mowing season approaches the signs will be removed and taken to the State Highway Garage or the county Road Department garage. So as a candidate myself, I know firsthand the cost of signs and I don't want to see anyone lose their signs.

By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer

By Billy Joe Fudge

Big Pitman Creek is a major tributary of Green River. Big Pitman begins on the East side of Hwy 68 just before the Marion County line

It drains about all of Taylor County west of HWY 68 from the Taylor/Marion line down through Campbellsville and on toward Greensburg.

The video looks up Big Pitman just after it enters Green County and then looks down Big Pitman where both Middle and Little Pitman merge with it prior to crossing under HWY 61 on its way to its confluence with Green River about halfway between Gabe and the Green River Bridge on HWY 88.

Community Supported Agriculture Week is Feb 16-20

From Madison Pergrem Cannon

Frankfort, KY - Kentucky Proud, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's marketing brand and the official agriculture marketing brand of the state, is offering its Virtual Spring Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Week February 16-20, 2026, Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell has announced.

"It's always better if you can buy from local farms. CSAs are an excellent and convenient way to do just that while at the same time supporting Kentucky's farm families," Commissioner Shell said. "The CSA Week is a great reminder that we have a large variety of farm products throughout our Commonwealth that can be brought directly into our homes. The hard work of all participating farmers and agencies makes this a success each year."

The long-standing CSA model of purchasing shares or subscriptions directly from local farms allows consumers to directly connect to locally grown farm products.

Poem: Men with no faces

By Marty Brown

I would like to share a poem I wrote about recent history, "Men with no faces," dedicated to Renee and Alex.
Who are they?
These men with no faces
Men with no names
Like wolves, they travel in packs
And, like wolves,
They prey on the weak
The helpless are snatched up,
Taken away, never to be seen again
By men with no faces
Men with no names

Mig Feuser shares his grandfather's global journey

By Linda Waggener

A small, timeworn photograph measuring just four and a half inches wide opened a window into a remarkable family history during the Adair County Genealogical Society's end-of-year Show and Tell gathering.

Mig Feuser shared the 1924 image, bearing the handwritten inscription "Miller Brewing Company, 1924, Milwaukee." The photograph shows a young man standing proudly beside what was then one of the newest automobile models of its day -- a Ford Model T. That young man was Feuser's grandfather, Jakob Feuser.
