Population picture as we begin the New Year As we ring in the new year, at 12midnightET on Jan. 1, 2025, the U.S. Census Bureau projects the U.S. population will reach 341,145,670. This represents an increase of 2,640,171 (0.78%) from Jan. 1, 2024, and 9,696,329 (2.93%) from Census Day (April 1) 2020. In January 2025, the United States is expected to experience one birth every 9.0 seconds and one death every 9.4 seconds. Meanwhile, net international migration is expected to add one person to the U.S. population every 23.2 seconds. The combination of births, deaths and net international migration increases the U.S. population by one person every 21.2 seconds. Donna Kessler Davis, 74, Campbellsville, KY Donna Kessler Davis of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James E. Kessler and Helen Reece Kessler, was born June 21, 1950 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:19 A.M., Saturday, December 28, 2024 at age 74. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. Donna was a retired medical assistant with Dr. Ewing's office. She united in marriage to William Davis July 4, 1968. Joe Roution, 56, Green County, KY (1967-2024) "Indian Joe" Roution of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Onie Joseph and Rose Roution, was born on December 28, 1967. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, having attained the age of 56 years, 11 months and 27 days. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Joe was a former employee of Nally and Gibson. He took great pride in caring for his family and spending all the time he could with them. Adair Co. Emergency Management report on successful search for IL man More than 30 searchers from over a dozen agencies came together in extremely difficult conditions on Sunday night to locate a missing Illinois man. Adair County Emergency Management sends their thanks to all search members from Sunday night's efforts, along with Adair County E911 Center. On Sunday, December 29, 2024, at approximately 3:08pmCT, the Adair County E911 Center was notified of an abandoned vehicle in the area of 252 Pelston Cemetery Road in the Breeding Community of Adair County. The Adair County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene and started to gather information. They determined that the driver of this vehicle, Mr. Thomas Burden, age 74 of Illinois, had abandoned his vehicle, walked away and was possibly injured and lost. At approximately 4:26pmCT, Breeding Fire Department Chief Terry Harvey was notified of the incident by the landowner. At approximately 4:44pmCT, Adair County Emergency Management was notified and responded to the scene. Search Teams from the Breeding Fire Department had already initiated a hasty search of the area. Due to adverse weather conditions, the search was suspended twice. The search area consisted of fields, wooded areas and waterways. W.G. (Bill) Henson, 79, Columbia, KY (1945-2024) W.G. "Bill" Henson of Columbia died on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the TJ Health Columbia Emergency Room. He was 79 years old. The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Steve Pescosolido officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation is requested after 3pmCT on Wednesday.
