Edwin N. Taylor, 81, Columbia, KY (1943-2024) Edwin N. Taylor of Columbia died on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at TJ Health/Columbia Emergency Room. He was 81 years old. A graveside service will be held at 11amCT on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Jones Chapel Cemetery, with Hunter Underwood officiating. Burial will follow. While J.O.Y. hopes to raise $70,000 - this year's campaign features an exciting twist! An anonymous donor has pledged to donate $2,000 to the Christmas Campaign for each person/business that commits to supporting J.O.Y. Ministries on a monthly basis. This donor will donate up to $50,000, so J.O.Y. is calling on 25 individuals to make a monthly commitment for 2025! The monthly gift can be ANY amount. Former CPD Chief Edwin Taylor dies in accident From Deputy Gary Roy Adair County Sheriffs Office We are deeply saddened to report the accidental death of former City Of Columbia Police Chief and City Council member Edwin Taylor. The emergency call came in yesterday afternoon. He was found where he had been working on his truck in the driveway of his home on Creek Bend Drive just outside the city Limits. It appeared he had been working on his truck alone when the accident happened. Responding were Sheriff Jamie Richard, and Deputies Gary Roy, Jason Camfield and Ricky Eastham. Wanda Carol Bishop, 84, Taylor County, KY Wanda Carol Bishop, 84, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Murrel Chappel and Mary Katherine Reed Chappel was born March 18th, 1940 in Knifley, and departed this life on Thursday, December 5th, 2024 at Taylor Regional Hospital. LWC: Record Winter Commencement a family celebration By Venus Popplewell LWC Director of Public Relations The Lindsey Wilson College community celebrated its largest winter commencement class in the school's 121-year history on Saturday, December 7, 2024. A total of 843 degrees were conferred at the two ceremonies held at Biggers Sports Center - 170 undergraduate and 673 graduate degrees. The morning ceremony included 11 doctoral degrees, the highest number presented at a single Lindsey Wilson commencement ceremony. But the day was really more of a big family celebration. As student speaker Kylie Jackson of Columbia told the morning commencement audience, "I can wholeheartedly say I have found a family at Lindsey Wilson College." Fees for electric, hybrid vehicles in KY will change Jan 1 From Kinsey Woodson Frankfort, KY - On January 1, 2025, by statute, ownership fees for electric vehicles in Kentucky will increase by 5%, to account for changes in national road maintenance costs.
