Letter: Water Bill

Bryan New writes:
I received our water bill statement in the mail 1 day before the balance is due (tomorrow). I went by on the 4th to pay it. They couldnt, or wouldnt, tell me just how late they had sent the statements out. I'm thinking they were at least 5 days late in sending them out.
Bryan, we just got word from CAUD that there was a problem with the billing company, and they are making adjustments: CAUD: You have until Sept 20 to pay water bills

Scenic Kentucky: Icons of days gone by

2024-09-09 - Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking.
Robert writes, "These old cars, mostly Chevys (I think), have been parked there for many years. I remember driving by them every workday morning, back as early as 1978. I'm guessing they were parked there even earlier than that. In some ways they have become an iconic relic for the town of Campbellsville."

You'll pass them on your way in to Campbellsville from Knifley, on S. Central Avenue (Hwy 70).

Letter: Once a source of water and amusement

From Kevin and Arlinda Kessler
We have owned this property for a few years. The house was like that too when we bought it. We spent thousands on it. We have talked about spending money to fix up the garage also but see no need to waste money on this building when it continues to be vandalized. The windows busted, the door broken down. It is very sad!

Letter: That old building

Lee Ann Sullivan writes:
That old building use to house my Dads Model T, the family boat plus a Special Model (blue and white) John Deere lawn tractor. Yes I said blue and white John Deere. So many memories of playing in the branch that ran in front of that old building.

I gave the water company permission to put the coin collection in that old building so the farmers could obtain large amounts of water. Heartbreaking to see it now!

Individuals with Disabilities Basketball League

From Daniel Hedges

I have been approached about an idea for a mini league of LL basketball for students with disabilities. It would be done on Saturday mornings and run by someone like last year. These students would get uniforms, and we would even play a championship game with trophies. There are some items of note with this matter. I have people interested in doing this.
  • This can only be offered if I have enough students who are interested.
  • It would be mixed grades.
  • I cannot legally force a student with a disability to participate in this league. They have the right to participate with the regular lead if they choose.
  • I will need it indicated on the form you would like your child to be in the league. I do not need, nor can I require you to tell me what the disability of the child is. This information is confidential and will be kept confidential. I respect privacy.
I would be excited to offer this opportunity. I have an adult brother who is mentally handicapped. So, this matter is very important to me. For more information, email espn8122@gmail.com.
