Naomi Rodgers, 97, Green County, KY (1927-2024) Naomi Ruth Rodgers was born February 20, 1927, in Green County, KY, to the late Shreve Wilson and Pernie Elva Loy Wilson. She departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, having attained the age of ninety-seven years, six months, and one day of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Separate Baptist Church. She was a member of Red Hatters Line Dance Branch. She worked at American Needlecraft, Lanham's Hardwood Flooring and Jane Todd Crawford Hospital as a secretary and bookkeeper. Swimming: BRAC is BACK By Julia Secanell Inspired by the resilient and swift bonito fish, the BRAC (Blue Raiders Aquatic Club) Bonitos have surged back into the swimming summer league with excitement and determination. The Blue Raiders Aquatic Club is once again alive with the energy of young athletes from ages 7 to 18, making a powerful return in 2024 after a nine-year break. Thirty-two swimmers participate in the Blue Raiders Aquatic Club, practicing and hosting meets at the Holloway Health & Wellness Center at Lindsey Wilson College. Led by coaches Tyler King, Nick Coe, and Jose Angel Rivas, the club competes against other swim clubs in Central Kentucky. This summer season, the team had four meets, showcasing their talent and passion for swimming against rivals like the Russell Rays and Lakewood Marlins. After long and successful practice sessions during the summer, the most important day arrived: the SSLOCKY (Summer Swim League of Central Kentucky) Championship started on July 13th in Russell Springs, Kentucky. All students eat breakfast and lunch at no charge all year From Dayna Parnell, School Food Service Director Adair County Schools The Adair County Food Service Program is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) that allows all students to receive free breakfast and free lunch for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Your child's participation in breakfast and lunch will be essential to continue to offer all school meals free for our children! All students must take the required food components to make a reimbursable meal or they will have to pay for each item and will not qualify for a free meal. Your child may continue to purchase extra food items or a la carte items at a set price. Board Policy states that students are not allowed to charge extra food items, so please inform your child of this policy, as cashiers will not allow charging of any items, and there are no exceptions. For your convenience, parents can use MY SCHOOL BUCKS to deposit money into your child's lunch/breakfast account and erase the agony of lost money for these items.
