Homeplace on Green River gets a funding boost Campbellsville, KY - Representative Pollock, Homeplace Leadership and local stakeholders joined executives from NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, this week, as they presented the Homeplace on Green River Program Director Lyn Stanton and the HGR Board with a check to help increase their outreach and mission. Their $5,000 contribution makes NextEra Energy Homeplace on Green River's newest Elite Heritage Level Corporate Member. Stanton shared the historical significance of the 200-year-old farm and how this local jewel came to be--from a 200-year-old family farm to being stewarded by the non-profit organization Homeplace on Green River. "We are excited to receive this support. This additional funding will help us accelerate our programs and outreach," said Stanton. HGR Board President Billy Joe Fudge spoke at the presentation on the importance of relationships and cooperation. Further, Mr. Fudge spoke of the disconnection between our country's youth and the natural world, and how Homeplace was created to help bridge that gap through programming for all ages. And thus, in 2003 the Downtown Days Committee was born. They didn't even have a place to hold their meetings so they met in a member's house.
