Letter: THANK YOU! Walmart

By Roldcat

Yesterday, I went shopping at Walmart. When I checked out in the self-checkout line, I neglected to pick up all of my bagged packages. In doing so, I left behind 4 items that were valued at $22.00. The bagged merchandise was picked up and taken by the next customer in line.

I called Walmart and let them know of my error in leaving the merchandise on the checkout counter. They told me to bring my receipt back to the store on my next visit.

I returned to Walmart this morning. A manager took my receipt and reviewed a video tape of my transaction at the self-checkout register. They confirmed that I had left the bagged merchandise on the counter and that it was picked up by the next customer in line.

The manager instructed me to re-pick the items from the store shelves, they were bagged up for me at the customer service desk and I was on my way without having to re-purchase the items.

I want to thank Walmart and the manager very much for helping me get through this issue that I caused for myself, without any monetary loss on my part. I know that Walmart is a multi-billion dollar corporation that can handle the $22.00 loss a lot easier than I could and I appreciate that they were willing to do this for me.

It would really be nice if the customer that picked up my items probably by mistake, would be honest and return the merchandise back to Walmart so that they in turn would not suffer the loss as well.
