Field Day held at the Pampered Angus Ranch

By Vicky Pike

A large crowd showed up for the Adair Extension field day on weeds, sprayer and seed drill calibration Thursday. Topics of discussion included: Poison Hemlock, Sweet Vernal Grass, Perilla Mint, Groundsel, Calibration Of Sprayer, Pasture Reseeding Considerations, No-Till Drill Set Up.

Nick Roy, Adair County Cooperative Extension Service, did the sprayer and seed drill class and the weed specialist from UK talked on various problematic weeds farmers deal with on a yearly basis. After a brief mist of rain we had a beautiful rainbow appear overhead. I think Ed was smiling down on us hosting such a prestigious even at the place he named Miss Victoria's Pampered Angus Ranch.

It was an honor to host such a well attended event. Zippy didn't come out to greet any of the guests but the girls came down as close as they could to greet their admirers.
