Searching for family since storms

2023-07-07 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Craig Dean.
Could this be your little black dog? It has been racing from yard to yard, scared and searching downtown, since the storms of last weekend. It's not much bigger than a grown cat. If it is yours, click 'comment' below and let us know how to reach you when it next appears in the neighborhood. It runs away before a collar can be checked for.

Robin Minton, 61, Russell County, KY (1961-2023)

Robin Minton, of Russell Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at 61 years of age.

She loved spending time with her family. She cherished family reunions and get-togethers; talking, singing, and laughing. She was a devout Christian and loved her church family with her whole heart. Carol Perkins: Too Much Relaxation

Previous Column: July 4th fireworks time

By Carol Perkins

At nine in the morning, I was reading the last chapters of a book I had to put down because my eyes kept closing. This can't be me. I NEVER read during the day because there is so much to do! This morning, however, the book kept calling me. Long before a shower, I picked it up and began.

I could see what I should be doing out of the corner of my eye. "Should" based on years of conditioned behavior of what my chores/duties/responsibilities should be, all self-imposed. Guy has no problem with downtime and can't understand my reluctance. "Who put you on a schedule?" he often says when I try to explain.
