Shout of praise to TRECC workers

By Jimmie Cox

Just want to give a shout of praise and say THANK YOU to the workers at Taylor Co. RECC for their tireless efforts in restoring our electricity.

Due to the recent storms, we have had a couple of outages in the past week. The lightning in last night's thunderstorm was like none that I've ever seen before. Many people have no idea what it's like to get up in the middle of the night and respond to a call for help. We have no control over the weather. We can only deal with the aftermath.

I know what it's like to have a job that you can't get there fast enough and solve everyone's problems in five minutes. So with that being said, Thank you again to the employees at Taylor Co RECC for leaving your families in the middle of the storm to take care of me and my family's problems. Be safe. Thanks, Jimmie

Columbian Theater restoration update

By Doug Beard

The renovation on the historic Columbian theater continues. As always, there are a few areas that take longer than anticipated, but that's very common in large renovation projects such as ours.

Currently, a new ceiling is being installed which incorporates new electrical systems and final audio/visual wiring into the structure.

Everything is moving right along and we anticipate the facility to be ready around the time that new school year begins so we can have this new venue ready for Fall productions.
