Ground broken for new JOY ministries HQ Comments to attendees by Maggie Coleman JOY Ministries started rather haphazardly over a decade ago, with Christians just doing what God calls them to do, to serve the least and the lost. Almost from the beginning, the need for a homebase became evident. Ten years later, with two shelters already standing, and having been located in four different buildings, we are breaking ground on the headquarters for our ministry. Everyone of you here today, from employees, volunteers, government officials, donors, law enforcement, church supporters, counselors, and board members, have had a hand in this event. Bill Twyman Gospel Sing coming to Adair Co. on June 17 From Gina Blakey The Blakey Quartet invites everyone to join them for the Bill Twyman Gospel Sing starting at 6pmCT on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Kelleyville Community Church. This is the first time that the Bill Twyman Community Sing has been scheduled in Adair County. It's usually in Louisville, Elizabethtown, Versailles, or other parts of Kentucky. It will be an evening of homecoming style singing by an invitation-only choir of favorite local southern gospel groups and singers. Joining The Blakey Quartet and the Bill Twyman Choir will be Kenny and Lora Roberts, The Noblemen, Cumberland Thunder, Family Legacy, Leland Humphrey Family, Bill Twyman and Kelly Cruze, Revelators, Living Proof, Community Quartet, Denise Watts-Wilson, Jay and Sandra Boyd and New Harvest. By Marie Freeman Even though we can do artificial intelligence searches on photos now, if we don't share, even with technology, we wouldn't know. I thank you for sharing this photo. When we learn things new it's very enriching, worth more than money. After researching the dragon stone there is a lot of history and spiritual realm for this fossil formation. It is believed to be a healing rock. Multiple agencies help with ravine rescue From Mike Keltner, Director Adair County Emergency Management At 5:27pmCT on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Adair EM, Adair EMS, the Adair Co. Sheriff's Office, Breeding Fire Department Technical Rescue and Columbia - Adair Co. Fire Department were dispatched by Adair E911 to the area of Holmes Bend Campground, for a report by 2 juvenile females (approximately 8 years old) that multiple children and adults had fallen into a deep ravine, were stuck and were possibly in the water. Upon Arrival we placed the juvenile females in the ambulance and they led us to the scene of the incident which began on the campground trail then continued off trail toward the lake.
