Danger lurks in the garden

2022-08-19 - Fairplay, KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold.
Veronica writes, "A garden can be a dangerous place. Well, it is if you're a small insect. Here we see the fate of a bee after he met a praying mantis on a squash flower.

Personally I would rather the mantis to kill bugs other than pollinators, but the mantis doesn't take orders from the gardener."

Green Co travel: Bridge deck project starts over Green River

Green County's KY 88 corridor provides a critical connection from Green County toward the I 65 corridor. It is heavily utilized by commercial traffic.

A bridge deck overlay project on KY 88 in Green County begins now between the Hart County Line and Greensburg. A temporary signal was installed Wednesday to direct alternating one-way traffic across the bridge. The contractor has a 30-day window to complete the work. At the midway progress point of the project, traffic will be switched to the opposite side of the bridge.

Motorists are reminded Just as with any intersection which has a signal, emergency traffic has right of way even during a red light cycle when emergency lights are being utilized on an emergency vehicle.
