Margaret Phillips McDonald, 101, Campbellsville, KY (1920-2022)

Margaret Phillips McDonald of Campbellsville passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. She was 101 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amET on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Dr. Ted Beam and Kevin Thompson. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 5pmET until 8pmET on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

LWC adds Telehealth access for campus community

LWC has partnered with Cumberland Family Medical Centers to provide primary care and mental health services to students, faculty and staff.

"The LWC community will now have access to primary healthcare services through telehealth technology," said LWC Dean of Students Chris Schmidt. "This partnership also provides access to more than 50 mental health counselors. Remote services will be available to all students including those who attend LWC online and at extended campus locations."

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over runs Aug. 17 - Sept. 5

Frankfort, KY - This Labor Day weekend, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's (KYTC) Office of Highway Safety (KOHS) is joining the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and law enforcement across the nation in reminding drivers to "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."

"Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer and we want to encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly by booking a safe ride home or designating a sober driver if your celebrations include alcohol," said Gov. Andy Beshear. "Together, we can avoid preventable tragedies on Kentucky roadways."

While law enforcement officers patrol for impaired drivers year-round, NHTSA says impaired driving-related crashes tend to increase during the Labor Day holiday period.

Glow in the Dark for Jesus on September 16

West 80 Church of God will host their annual Glow in the Dark for Jesus youth event from 6:30pmCT to 10:30pmCT on Friday, September 16, 2022.

The event will feature a "lights out, blacklights on" worship experience, with glow jewelry, door prizes, pizza, cotton candy, Speaker Bro Jon Proctor, and Knight Illusions, a Christian illusionist team from the Dallas, TX area.

Lindsey Wilson College prepares to welcome the Class of 2026

The A.P. White Campus and the city of Columbia are abuzz with excitement as Lindsey Wilson College finalizes the preparations to begin a new academic year.

Although student-athletes involved in fall sports have been settling in for the last few weeks, LWC freshman residential students will not arrive for move-in until 9amCT, Saturday morning, August 20. The rest of the residential student body will move in beginning at noon on Sunday, August 21.

Students will be welcomed with a full week of events and activities planned to help them ease into college and campus life.

OCC Project Leader Workshop

Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Will host a project leader workshop from 3pmET to 4pmET on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Salem Baptist Church located at 271 Salem Church Road, Campbellsville Kentucky.

Topics that will be discussed include the journey of the box, the Greatest Journey, how to pack a quality box, how to build a box online, and how to be a year-round volunteer.

There will be a computer station where workshop participants can order materials online. Individuals can register by going to Operation Christmas Child and choosing the tab local events.
