How to grow more puffball mushrooms Comments re: Day trip: Old Montpelier Road for a giant mushroom By Marie Freeman That is one big puffball mushroom! If it only weighs 2 1/2 pounds is probably already turned a spore not worth eating. But you could grow more in the same area for next year! And eat them before they spore. I think my favorite thing with dehydrated puffball is what they call puffball Parmesan cheese. So here's how you can actually take that big puffball... maybe have yourself a harvest and a half next year. Everybody's finding them this year, I have not found one. I should've re-generated my last one rather than eat it :-) Here's the process: Article continues... click title or click here to read whole article. 2020-09-26 20:02:52 | Comments | Printable version
Day trip: Old Montpelier Road for a giant mushroom By Linda Waggener Ada Coffey called in a report of a giant mushroom discovery on Old Montpelier Road in Adair County, KY on the property of Earl and Marilyn Coffey. In true Columbia Magazine spirit, Ada knew that no matter what else was going on in the world at large, this would be breaking news here. She, being of known good character as one who would never exaggerate the truth, I believed her, shooed the cats off the Honda and took to the road. Amazing mushroom pictures accompany this story - complete with the giant mushroom measurements. If you'd like to see the countryside, here are a few more details for a slow, scenic drive to observe the kind of terrain on which a giant mushroom might grow. Garrison shares message of opportunity and sacred diversion By Scarlett Birge Campbellsville, KY - "Jesus wants to meet you right where you are," Dr. Shane Garrison, vice president for enrollment services and professor of educational ministries, said at Campbellsville University's September 16 chapel service, as part of the Campus Revival Week. Garrison spoke on "sacred diversion" while he read from Luke 18:35-42. He told the story of the gospel in which a beggar's life was changed through Jesus. "No one likes being diverted. No one likes being rerouted," Garrison said. He spoke of how he tends to want to plan everything out down to the last detail but that God's plan isn't always what we expect. There's no need to be related by blood or marriage, just a love of community and history. There are plenty of stones in need of adoption where no one is left to take care of it. Cleaning Old Grave Stones - special care is needed Extracted from the Kentucky Historical Society, 2020 Serious damage can be done to stones by using improper cleaning methods. Even if they appear to be stable, not all stones can be safely cleaned. Miss Winston's tests were unbelievable David Pyles of Columbia remembers Miss Noma Dix Winston's history tests while he was a student at Lindsey Wilson College, on his way to becoming a teacher himself. The first test was one hundred and ten multiple choice questions. Each of the four multiple choice answer options was correct. The student had to select which was "the most correct" from those four options. 2020-09-26 05:45:19 | Comments | Printable version Birthdays and Anniversaries for September 26 Happy Anniversary, Tammy and Benjamin Bault | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Alma Green | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Aydan Conner Edwards (2006) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Baylee Grace Wheeler (September 26, 2007) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Brandon Burns (September 26, 1979) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Colby Robertson (September 26, 1993) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Dalton Crawford (2011) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Darlene Campbell | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Debbie Andrejco | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Jacky D.
