Farm gates stolen on White Oak Road near Coffey Hole

From the Providence Community Watch,
Name on file

There were two farm gates stolen off the hinges, locks and all, sometime Wednesday afternoon / night, September 16, 2020. If you know or see anything relating to this please message us.

They are two green 16' gates and they were taken from White Oak Road near the Coffey Hole. There was a single cab, black, Chevrolet truck seen sitting there at the entrance Wednesday afternoon. Reward offered for information leading to the arrest of this thief.

There are now "keep out / no trespassing" signs back up at the Coffey Hole because there has been a rash of garbage, broken bottles, dirty diapers, and mess.

Cameras are posted around the area and anyone trespassing (people without permission who enter beyond the signs) will be turned over to the authorities. This is for anyone that does not have permission to be on the private property.

DOI can review, overturn medical insurance decisions

By Sherelle Roberts Pierre

Frankfort, KY - Kentuckians who disagree with decisions made by their health insurance carrier about the necessity of services, treatments or medication can seek to have an outside expert review that decision, and possibly have it overturned, through a program at the Department of Insurance.

Since 2000, Kentucky law gives individuals who are covered by fully insured health benefit plans the right to have an independent, medical review to assess whether the company's denial of a specific claim or requested service or treatment is justified. Reviews through DOI's Independent External Review Program are available when a recommended service or treatment is denied on the basis that it does not meet the insurer's requirements for medical necessity.

KYTC Reaches Milestone of 50K REAL ID-Compliant Licenses, IDs

By Chuck Wolfe

Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has reached the 50,000 mark in number of REAL ID-compliant driver's licenses and identification cards issued.

Applicants increasingly are choosing the more secure credential ahead of a federal deadline for having verified identification for access to certain installations and activities. REAL ID licenses and IDs are issued only at KYTC Regional Driver Licensing offices.

Beginning Oct. 1, 2021, verified identification such as REAL ID licenses and IDs will be required for boarding domestic commercial flights and entering military bases and secure federal installations. You may already have an acceptable credential, such as a valid passport or military ID. To find out whether a REAL ID is right for you, click here: https://drive.ky.gov/RealID/Pages/Is-it-right-for-you.aspx.

KYTC: Illegally placed signs are being removed

By Wes Watt

Bowling Green, KY - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) crews are removing illegally placed items along state maintained right of way areas. Political candidates, residents, business operators and property owners along US and KY routes are reminded no signage is allowed on right of way other than official highway signs and items approved through a permit process.

In particular, as we approach the November election, campaign signs must be placed beyond right of way limits. Right of way fence is included with this restriction. On roads with a right of way fence, no signs may be attached. Final mowing cycles of the growing season are in full swing across the district. Crews will not mow around illegally placed items. They will be removed. Items placed on right of way areas create significant delays for our mowing crews and are potential hazards for mowing operators and passing motorists.
