Scam concern resolved, KY AG Office investigates Tamera Andrew's letter of concern posted on ColumbiaMagazine.com received attention in the Office of KY Attorney General Daniel Cameron. After thorough investigation, described in the article below from his office, this potential scam against seniors was resolved in favor of the business. However, the advice is to always lean on the side of caution. ACSO: Friday accident on Elkhorn Road By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office On Friday, February 21, 2020, at 7:19pmCT, Adair County 911 received a call of a single vehicle collision on Elkorn Road, 15 miles north of Columbia. Sheriff's Deputy Joey Keith was dispatched along with additional emergency services to the site of the collision. Preliminary investigation shows that Ronald Woodrum, age 67, was traveling north on Elkorn Road in a 2018 GMC Sierra truck, along with his passenger, a 3 year old child. Beshear accepting nominations to higher education boards By Crystal Staley/Sebastian Kitchen Frankfort, KY - Nominations for gubernatorial appointments to the Commonwealth's university boards of regents, boards of trustees, and other higher education boards are currently being accepted. A nominee may not be a full-time employee of a public institution of higher education. Anyone who has a relative employed by a university, Council on Postsecondary Education, Higher Education Assistance Authority/Student Loan Corp. or KET may not serve on the board. Nominees may not have a conflict of interest pursuant to KRS 45A.340. Applications previously received during the last administration will not be considered. New applicants can apply online at https://governor.ky.gov/services/application-for-boards-and-commissions or call 502-564-2611. The deadline for completed forms and resumes has been extended to February 29, 2020.
