KY 70 in Casey Co. to be temporarily closed, next week By Amber Hale The Kentucky Department of Highways will temporarily close KY 70 in Casey County to through traffic beginning at the Casey/Taylor County line (mile point 0) and ending at mile point 4 (Wolford-Murphy Road), next week, as crews work to replace cross drains beneath the roadway. Crews will close the route on Monday, July 29, Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday, July 31 at approximately 9amET and will re-open by approximately 2pmET each day. Adair County School Board July 2019 - Report By Linda Waggener Adair County Board of Education Chair Lisa Burton (Division 3) brought the July meeting to order and gave a warm welcome to everyone. In the Superintendent's report, Dr. Pamela Stevens reminded everyone that opening day for the 2019-2020 school year comes up in just two weeks. On August 7th all employees of the Adair County School District, plus Board Members and guests are asked to be present at the Adair County High School gymnasium at 7:30amCT for Opening Assembly. Dr. Stephens said, "guest speaker Dr. Carl Hurley will start the year off with a rousing and upbeat message." He is a former Eastern Kentucky University professor, nationally known as a comedian and lecturer - "and if you've never heard him, you'll want to come," she said. Suresh Ramamurthi named LWC Tennis Coach By Chris Wells Suresh Ramamurthi has been named Lindsey Wilson College's men and women's tennis head coach, Lindsey Wilson athletics director Willis Pooler announced on Wednesday. Ramamurthi takes over for Randall Knox, who resigned following the 2019 season. "I would like to thank Mr. Willis Pooler and Mr. Chris Wells, for this opportunity and I am honored to lead the men and women's tennis programs at LWC," Ramamurthi said. "I am excited to join the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raider family. I am impressed with the campus energy and topnotch facilities. "My aim is to continue the strong tradition of competing in the postseason and developing championship minded student-athletes," Ramamurthi added.
