How did Robert Ellis create that special picture?

Every now and then someone shares such a unique photo with columbiamagazine.com that I wish the photographer could share the genius in the creation along with the details. Like this one by Robert Ellis with the perfect weathered tree in the foreground, in focus, and the rest of the photo in a complimentary hazy state. How'd he do that in the photo at the link below? He might just have to say, like my mother-in-law Audrey Chelf Waggener did of a recipe for her perfect Thanksgiving dressing, "oh, I just add a little of this, and a little of that..." Anyway, good job on this picture! -- Linda Waggener

Mission trip to South Africa results in five baptisms

We have guests ~ thank them for stopping by

By Linda Waggener

Deer hunters have come to Adair County, Kentucky from several surrounding states as the season kicks into gear today. Hunters from Texas and Mississippi returned for a second year in a row to eat with members of Hood Lodge in their annual fundraiser breakfast.

Wooded hills in all sections of the county are popular places for hunting and many acres are leased out for that purpose. Watch for the bright orange hats the hunters wear and we hope hunters and non-hunters will put safety first.
