Patricia Lynn (Morgan) Keith, 51, Adair County, KY

September 18, 1966 ~ May 26, 2018 (Age 51) She was the matriarch of a large, respected Adair County family She was the daughter of Dolly Franklin Bragg and Jack Morgan, who survive, as does her husband, Curtis Keith. With her passing She leaves 28 direct living descendants, spanning three generations. Her final resting place will be in Adair County, KY.

Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Sonia Jan Anderson, 80, Metcalfe Co., KY/Carter Co., TN native

February 11, 1938 ~ May 24, 2018 (Age 80)

She was a homemaker, member of the Edmonton Methodist Church, retired beautician, business owner, member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and Edmonton Eastern Star. She was a native of Roan Mountain, TN, and a resident of Edmonton, KY, at the time of her death. She was the matriarch of a large, respected family, the daughter of the late W.J. & Dora Hopson Gilbert. Her husband, Douglas Anderson, survives. She leaves 16 direct living descendants.

Joe Stephen Acree, 77, Metcalfe County, KY (1940-2018)

August 8, 1940 ~ May 24, 2018 (Age 77)

He was a member of a large Metcalfe County family and a member of the Edmonton United Methodist Church. He was a retired toll plaza employee at the Edmonton exit on the Cumberland Parkway. His wife Lois Acree preceded him in death seven months ago on October 2, 2017 at the age of 74. Joe was preceded in death by all five of his siblings, brothers: Edward, Preston, Buddy and Jimmy Acree, and his sister, Elaine Warren.

Paul Edward (Bud) Witham, 80, Taylor County, KY (1938-2018)

Bud retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after 35 years of service. He loved farming, especially tobacco, and also enjoyed hunting and going to the flea markets to shop. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Laverne Sapp November 13, 1953, who survives.

His funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Alan Witham officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7pmCT/5-8pmET Monday, May 28, 2018. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Slick Alexander, Ricky Hitch, Jesus Romero Cid, Stuart Wise, Austin Witham, Daniel Witham, Nathan Witham.

Two die, one survives Lebanon, KY vehicle accident

(Marion County, Ky May 26, 2018) - Trooper Dexter Colvin is investigating a fatal collision that occurred May 25, 2018 at 11:19pmET, six miles west of Lebanon on East Lovers Lane. 18-year-old David B. Lawson, of Lebanon, was operating an eastbound 2008 Ford F250 when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a tree.

Lawson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner. A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Shelby Goode, of St. Francis was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital where she was later pronounced dead by the Jefferson County Coroner.

Frankfort, KY - With summer approaching, the Kentucky Division of Water (DOW) and the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) offer these safety tips to help Kentuckians enjoy the many rivers, lakes and creeks in which to boat, fish, swim, canoe or otherwise enjoy our abundant water resources.

Despite many water quality improvements, there is the potential for human health risks in any body of water. By using common sense, your risks of experiencing water-derived health issues can be greatly decreased.

Bowling Green man pleads guilty to violating drug and gun laws

LOUISVILLE, KY (Fri 25 May 2018) - A Bowling Green, man pleaded guilty to multiple drug and firearm offenses yesterday in United States District Court, announced United States Attorney Russell M. Coleman.

Christopher Michael Compton, 40, admitted to aiding and abetting the knowing and intentional possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana. He also admitted attempting to knowingly and intentionally manufacture methamphetamine and being a prohibited person in possession of firearms and ammunition.

I enjoyed Joe Lynn Barbee's angry bird Killdeer photo. It jogged my memory of a similar picture I took a few years ago. We were in the Russell Springs City Cemetery taking pictures and I came upon a Killdeer nest in an old rotting stump. One of the parents did the "injured bird" act, hopping away from the nest dragging it's "broken" wing (it kept looking back to make sure I was following). I played along but doubled back to take a peek at the nest and there was another parent there still on guard duty and I got a picture of it in defensive mode.
