Traffic Advisory - I65/WKY Interchanges in Hardin County

Sunday night, May 13 and Monday night, May 14, 2018, the northbound cloverleaf ramps at Exit 91 (WK Parkway East to I-65 North and I-65 North to WK Parkway West) will be closed at 7pmCT/8pmET for milling and paving operations. The ramps will be back open at 5amCT/6amET the following morning.

Tourist season starting strong at Holmes Bend & Knifley

Loads of people were out today at Holmes Bend Marina and at the beach and fishing piers, even before Memorial Day and the start of the summer tourist season. Up at Knifley, Arnold Patterson at Patterson's Bait & Grocery said that the store had an exceptionally busy Sunday, serving some tourist and local traffic, but, mostly, he said from the the fishing activity at Arnold's Landing. "The parking lot is set up 18 cars," he said, "but there must have been 50 cars there." - EW

Kentucky DOCJT Training graduates 34 officers in Class 491

Class 491 completed 23 weeks of training. Of the 34 graduates from basic training, two are with the Greensburg Police Department, one is with the Taylor County Sheriff's Department.

RICHMOND, KY (Fri 11 May 2018 2018) - Thirty-four law enforcement officers from agencies across the state graduated Thursday from basic training at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training.

The graduates of Class 491 completed 23 weeks of training, which consisted of 923 hours of recruit-level instruction. Major training areas included homeland security, law offenses and procedures, vehicle operations, firearms, investigations, first aid and CPR, patrol procedures, orientation for new law enforcement families and the mechanics of arrest, restraint and control.

Baby Daxon Rich dedicated to the Lord in the arms of family

The newest member of the Rich family of Adair County is three-month-old Daxon, son of Will and Samatha Rich, born February 16, 2018.

Daxon was presented to the congregation Sunday, May 6, 2016, in a ceremony led by Egypt Christian Church Pastor Paul Patton with vows spoken by the family to raise up the little one in the ways of Christian faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Lunch: Taco Salad. Veggie Sticks & Dip. Apple Cake. Milk. OJ. Water. Apple Juice.

Barbara Lois Gassaway Glass, Metcalfe Co., KY (1937-2018)

She was a member of an outstanding Randolph, Metcalfe County, KY, family, the daughter of the late Roy & Nellie Whitlow Gassaway. Her husband of 62 years, Derral Glass, survives. She leaves 12 direct living descendants, residing in the Randolph and Edmonton area of Metcalfe County, as well as Barren, Adair, Warren Counties and elsewhere. She had been a sewing machine operator and was a member of the Hickory College Church of Christ.

Barbara Lois Gassaway Glass, age 80, of Randolph, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 2pmCT, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Brother Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Randolph, KY. Visitation will be 2pm-8pmCT, Saturday, May 12, 2018, and on Sunday after 8amCT until time of services.
