Accident on East 80 has closed road near Adair Russell line

Use extreme caution on Highway East 80 due to a two-vehicle injury accident being reported.

Traffic is backed up and being turned back from the site of the accident just past WHVE radio on the Columbia side of the big hill above Russell Creek.

More information will be made available as further reports come in.

Ricky Donald Stamper, 58, Russell County, KY (1958-2017)

He was a machinist. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio, and a resident of Russell Springs, KY, at the time of his death. He was a member of a respected Russell County, KY, family, the son of Donald Stamper and the late Carolyn Dobson Stamper. His wife, Teresa Kaye Stamper, survives. He leaves eight direct, and one step- living descendants

Early Wednesday morning, November 29, 2017, a busload of Adair County students departed for the Regional Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) competition at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY. For the second year in a row, a team of students from each school went to present their technology project in hopes that it would be deemed worthy of advancing to state competition.

Aaron Walton Ratliff, 79, Green County, KY (1938-2017)

He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church and was a mechanic. He was a member of a respected Green County, KY, family, the son of the late Ruby Walton & Mary Chaudoin Rattliff. He leaves four direct living descendants.

Justin Ray Atwood, 25, Liberty, Casey Co., KY (1992-2017)

He can be remembered by his favorite phrase "I'm something like a big deal!" He was a son of the Donald Ray Cochran & Melissa Sue Atwood White, both of whom survive. He was a native of Boyle County, KY, and a resident of Casey County, KY, at the time of his death. He leaves one direct living descendant, a son, William Carson Atwood, and many, many leaving forebears to cherish his memory. His final resting place will be in Brush Creek Cemetery in Casey County, KY

Linda Kay Bronnbauer Comer, 29, Green County, KY (1988-2017)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was of the Baptist faith, and was an assembly line worker for Clarcor, Inc. She was a native of Ft. Knox, KY and a resident of Greensburg, KY, at the time of her death. She was daughter of Lorri Lea Capps Bronnbauer, of Greensburg, KY; and the late Peter Bronndus. She leaves three direct living descendants, children Serenity Matney, Laynie Matney, and Michael Smith.

HS Basketball: Adair Co. vs Green Co. Fri 01 Dec 2017

The Adair County High School girls and boys basketball teams are at Green County High School, 302 Brummal Avenue, Greensburg, KY, tonight, Friday, December 1, 2017.

The girls game starts at 5:30pmCT and the boys games starts at 7pmCT.

Adair County is coming of wins over visiting Cumberland County HS at home Friday, November 24, 2017, at home at John Burr Memorial Gymnasium. The boys won a high scoring 87-48 game; the Adair County Lady Indians won 52.26.
