Graves County woman arrested after children found in roadway

LOWES, KY (Sun 13 Aug 2017) - Kentucky State Police arrested a Graves County woman Sunday morning after two small children were found walking in the roadway. At approximately 9:30amCT, on Sunday, August 13, KSP received a call reporting two small children were observed walking in the roadway near the 5000 block of Highway 339 North in Graves County.

Jon Halsey: Deer have run of Knifley place, too, almost . . .

The deer at Knifley - at least at Jon Halsey's place, know they have friends at the Halsey Place. He sends the accompanying album with this note in response to the paired photos, almost like pets. He writes, in response to seeing paired photos linked from: Scenic Adair County: Deer II, bounding away, which included to remark that the Greenbriar Ridge deer "seemed almost like pets" -
Well not quite "...like pets."
At least my pets usually do what I ask.
And sends delightful photos of tame deer at his place, as comfortably at home as the house cats and dogs he and Mrs. Halsey pamper.

Jenny airplane which landed at C/AC Airport crashes in BG - link

It was only 13 months, and three days ago, that Columbia was abuzz with news that the Columbia/Adair County Airport would be used as a refueling point a Curtiss Jenny on its way from the London, KY airport. (See The Jenny refuels at Columbia/Adair County Airport Story with eight links and over 21 photos).

A long news story in the Bowling Green, KY Daily News tells of a crash of the Jenny on a golf course yesterday, August 12, 2017 at this link: Historic Jenny plane crashes at golf course. The story has a photo of the plane following the crash.

Health is tied to veterinary science, health of animals

Dr. Kelly Giesbrecht, DVM, the new Kentucky public health veterinarian spent 11 years in the Air Force as a public health officer and most recently worked at the Northern Kentucky Health Department where she served as a regional epidemiologist

FRANKFORT, KY (11 Aug 2016) - According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 75 percent of the new diseases that have affected humans over the past 10 years originated from an animal or an animal product.

As the new state public health veterinarian, Dr. Kelly Giesbrecht, DVM, will provide leadership and supervision regarding issues related to the identification and evaluation of human health hazards of animal origin that could potentially impact the health of Kentuckians.
