He was a native of Cumberland County, KY and was a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Ezra & Iretis Vibbert. His wife, Wanda Scott Vibbert, survives. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

Nancy Baldock Overton, 79, Taylor Co., KY (1937-2017)

She graduated from the Louisville Beauty College in 1964 and had been a hairdresser for over fifty years. When Nancy wasn't at the Beauty Shop, she would be working in her flower garden or working in the yard. Nancy loved entertaining people and cooking Sunday dinner for friends and family. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle where she played the organ for many years.

Charles Cropper, 86, Gamaliel, KY/formerly of Columbia, KY (1930-2017)

He was a native of Monroe County, KY, and a former resident of Columbia, KY, where he was a popular figure in the community and served as Chief of Police for several years before returning to Gamaliel. He was the son of the late Charles Albert Cropper, Sr., & Marjorie Emma Cassady Cropper. He leaves many relatives in Monroe County, Russell and Green Counties and elsewhere. He was a member of the Gamaliel Baptist Church and the Gamaliel Lions Club. He had also served on the Gamaliel City Council.

"We are so excited to have Kel join our Blue Raider program," Peck said. "Not only is he one of the top players in our area, he is one of the top players in the state and he may be the best shooter, especially from distance.

You put up a notice for me in February about a found dog in the Breeding Community. We were calling her Lady.

It took about 3 weeks but her owners finally contacted me and reclaimed her.

Apparently one of their neighbors had seen the notice on Columbia Magazine and let them know where to look.

"I had no idea," Ole Dave Rosenbaum replied after receiving a note from CM implying he actually knew what the Elegant Stinkhorn (PHOTO) he sent in to CM was.

He admits he knew it was some kind of fungus, and not, what some suspected, a nerf toy planted as a prank. "It is obviously some sort of mushroom," he writes, "but I really had never noticed it before."

Campbellsville High School fishing season under way

Campbellsville High School's bass fishing team is in the midst of its second season, with a larger team this school year.

Jeff Richardson, director of food service and director of pupil personnel for Campbellsville Independent Schools, is head coach.

This year's team members include senior Jon Tanner Coppage, juniors Bryce Richardson, Austin Carter, Caleb Hughes, Tosye Cox and Connor Wilson, freshmen Cole Kidwell, Gabriel Gutierrez and Dalton Brown and Campbellsville Middle School seventh-graders Seth Hash and Dakota Harris.
