A Monday evening, March 13, 2017, rescue at Pumpjack Off Trail Park was successfully conducted with the Adair County Emergency Management, Adair County EMS, Adair Search & Rescue, and the Breeding Technical Rescue Team assisted by volunteers Johnny Underwood, Jamie Hatcher, and Josh Hatcher. Gwendolyn Whitley, formerly of Taylor Co., KY; Green Co. native (1940-2017)

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of New Hope Community Church in Elizabethtown, KY. Traveling was always a favorite pastime for Gwendolyn, as was enjoying good music. Most of her joy came from her family; she loved to spend time with them. She truly took delight in the happiness of others, especially her family and closest friends. She was the daughter of the late Kelly & Pauline Whitlock Kelly. Her husband of 54 years, Donald Whitley, survives. She leaves six direct and two step living descendants.

At the time of her death she was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Our Lady Perpetual Help. She was an avid reader and liked to paint in her spare time. She was born in Green County, KY and was a resident of Columbia, KY. She was the daughter of the late Joe & Tressye Finn Whitlock. Her husband, John Schneider, survives. She leaves one direct and four step- living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Campbellsville, KY

Adair County Elementary School celebrated Career Day last Friday, March 10, with 50 volunteers on hand to talk to students about the many options available to them after high school. In addition to the community members in attendance to discuss their respective professions with all three grade levels at the school, students from Adair County High School spoke to fifth graders about the career pathway options at ACHS.

Substitute teacher at Taylor Co. HS arrested

TCSO Deputy Brian Pickard was arresting officer. Investigation is ongoing. Suspect faces several charges and was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center Cambpellsville, KY

Lawrence Harris, 46, Campbellsville, KY, a substitute teacher at Taylor County High School, Campbellsville, KY, was arrested Friday, March 10, 2017, at 1pmET, after an investigation by the Taylor County Sheriff's Department into allegations of sending and soliciting explicit photographs of a 14-year-old child and a 15-year-old child who were students.

The Adair County Fiscal Court will be accepting sealed bids for group health insurance, dental, and vision plans for county employees for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Bids need to be received at Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens’ office at 424 Public Square, Ste. 1, Columbia, KY no later than 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017. Bids will be opened on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 during the regularly scheduled fiscal court meeting held at 6:00 p.m. in the Adair County Annex Basement. 52-year-old Samuel Edwards, of Columbia, was operating a northbound 2002 KIA on KY 61 when he lost control of the vehicle and left the shoulder of the roadway.

(7:20amCT, Mon 13 March 2017) - A crash involving a semi from early this morning has the interstate partially blocked just before motorists reach the Munfordville interchange (Exit 65). The incident scene is located off the right side of Northbound lanes. Traffic is moving through the area with no significant delay. Cleanup is expected to last through midday.

He was a retired farmer, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of Willow Springs United Methodist Church. He was a native of Mt. Olive, KY, and a resident of Yosemite at the time of his death. LWC's Sabrina Bice repeats as women's BMX national champion

WEST MONROE, LA - Sabrina Bice did it again.

Bice captured her second straight USA Cycling BMX individual national championship on Sunday at the 2017 championships. She becomes the 18th individual national champion from the Lindsey Wilson cycling program.

Lindsey Wilson cycling finished second in the team competition, behind national champion Marian (IN).
