Poetry by Grasshopper: Words

By Grasshopper
Poet Penname for Sharmarie Harper
Things from the heart,
are the hardest to say,
sometimes people take it the wrong way.

Judgment is always,
one person away,
but you can't stop them,
no one thinks the same way.

Rejection is real and always a fear,
you never know what you may hear.

Acceptance is a desire,
but it seems you're always consumed by the fire.

Then one day,
you finally see,
it only matters to the one,
who is meant to receive.

At the end of the day your heart is yours,
say what you must and then,
simply trust!
"Grasshopper" is the poet pen name for one of ColumbiaMagazine.com's most beloved writers of all time. Maybe you had guessed - we're publishing it now after receiving Shamarie Harper's permission to do so.

Also very interesting is the question of what sources Judge Baker used for his information about Trabue.

Trabue himself wrote his autobiography at the time but evidently the first publication was not until 1981 as "Westward into KY."
