Caregivers met in Adair today on subject of nursing home by Linda Waggener Lana Roy, social services and discharge planner, from Summit Manor Nursing Home, was guest speaker at the December meeting of the Adair County Caregiver Support Group today. From her long term experience, she was able to share what can be expected when a family needs to think of nursing home residency. Henderson Co. Man Charged with Drug and Alcohol Offenses By TFC. Billy Gregory Kentucky State Police Post 15 25-year-old Jackson S. Daughtery, of Henderson KY, was arrested on Tuesday, December 1st at approximately 8:49 PM CST on Water Works Street in the limits of Columbia, Kentucky. Daughtery was charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, Operating a Vehicle with Expired Operator's License, Possession of Marijuana, DUI 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Notify Address Change to Dept. of Transportation. Tpr. Levi Scott is investigating. Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. National Influenza Vaccination Week Dec 6-12 Give yourself the gift of health this holiday season: Get Vaccinated Against Flu By Gwenda Bond/Barbara Fox Frankfort, KY - State public health officials are encouraging Kentuckians to get a flu vaccination during National Influenza Vaccination Week, Dec. 6-12, to reduce the spread of illness this holiday season. "Getting a flu vaccine is an early holiday gift you can give to yourself and your family," said Dr. Kraig Humbaugh, deputy commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH). "As the holidays approach, people will be traveling, and families will gather together, increasing the potential for exposure to the flu. We are strongly urging anyone who hasn't received a flu vaccine, particularly those at high risk for complications related to the flu, to check with their regular health care provider, local health departments or other vaccine providers." DPH officials report weekly to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of statewide flu surveillance efforts. Kentucky's flu activity is currently classified as "local," indicating outbreaks of flu or increases in Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) cases in a single region of the state.
