Mayor Curtis Hardwick makes statement on lawyer bill From Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick Elections are the county's responsibility, not the city's. I feel it is definitely the county's place to pay the attorney's bill because he is representing the Adair County Board of Elections. The City didn't file the lawsuit. I didn't file the lawsuit. I just hate it that it all happened. - Curtis Hardwick 2015-07-16 13:38:09 | Comments | Printable version

Free notepads - Remember to say: Thank You! Joyce M. Coomer writes: To people who get free notepads at our shop, at least have enough common courtesy to yell "Thank You!" before you leave. - Joyce M. CoomerThanks, Joyce Coomer - I'm with you on this one in spirit, but I'm sure I'm guilty of not thanking everyone who makes extraordinary favors along the way. It is funny how we often take generosity of givers as an entitlement. - EW 2015-07-16 10:50:48 | Comments | Printable version
Wonders why court is hesitant to pay lawyer Ashley Miller writes: I have to question why the Court is hesitant to pay this attorney's bill. The Adair County Board of Elections has jurisdiction over both city and county elections, and the Court has jurisdiction over the Board. The Board voted to appeal the decision, therefore the Board and the Court are responsible for the bill. The last thing the County needs in another lawsuit or a lien. Whomever authorized the Attorney to file the Appeal must have signed an Agreement with the Attorney for the work. This bill is dated June 29th so by the August 11th meeting it will be more than 30 days old and subject to Collections. Let's not hide from our obligations. - Ashley MillerComments re photo 61294 Copy of Attorney Statement for Board of Elections Appeal 2015-07-16 10:32:45 | Comments | Printable version
