Max, who doesn't like cats - available for adoption

2015-03-20 - Glens Fork, KY - Photo by Mark Hale.
Some dogs just don't like cats. As it turns out our dog Max, (made famous as the Christmas dog on CM just before Christmas) is one of those dogs. We were so happy to adopt Max and he is a great friend. Unfortunately we need to let Max have a new home away from cats. He would probably do best as a lone pet. Max stays home and is always here to welcome us and anyone else when they come up the drive. We are looking for a good home for Max. He has been neutered and has all his recommended shots. Anyone that is interested in a fine young dog for an active family, Max is that dog. It is a must that cats are not in the equation as he has a tendency to terrorize them. We are now short one cat and pretty sure Max is the reason. We like our cats and would like to keep them. Please help save our cats and give Max a loving home. Interested persons may call or text me at 270 634 2146. Thank you, MARK HALE

She leaves four direct living descendants. Norma was so glad to use her God given gift of piano and organ playing as a service to God and others, playing for many funeral services and churches, including the ones her father pastored and held revivals in. This was a joy to her and others. Norma played by ear and her first memory of playing was at three years old. Golden eagle captured in Bernheim Forest

Those interested in following the movements of this golden eagle may visit the golden eagle page on the Bernheim Forest website at http://bernheim.org/golden-eagle.

By: Lee McClellan

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Researchers recently captured a golden eagle in the Bernheim Forest in Bullitt and Nelson counties and fitted it with a tracking device as part of an ongoing research project. Golden eagles are seldom seen in Kentucky.

"Bernheim Forest has a few golden eagles that come back every winter and is one of the more reliable places in the state to see golden eagles," said Kate Heyden, avian biologist for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. "They don't nest in Kentucky, but spend winters here. Golden eagles that winter here probably nest in Canada."

KY Afield Outdoors: March brings Muskie Madness

This is the third installment of the "Spring Fishing Fever" series of fishing articles. Produced by the Kentucky Afield Outdoors staff, the series details productive fishing opportunities across Kentucky.

By: Kevin Kelly

FRANKFORT, Ky. - The NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament captivates the state of Kentucky every March and this year all eyes are on John Calipari and the University of Kentucky.

Can the top-seeded Wildcats bring a ninth national title back to Lexington by becoming the first team since 1976 to finish the season undefeated? University of Louisville fans may hope not.

For some anglers, March also means Muskie Madness, an obsession among fanatics who tolerate the winter months waiting for their version of the Big Dance.

Kentucky's muskellunge lakes have iced out and people are primed for the spring bite while some northern lakes may still be iced over or the muskie seasons there haven't opened.
