VFW Post 6097 will discuss Veterans Administrations Clinic

A Veterans Administration Clinic in Adair County will be topic at 7pmCT, Thursday, 12 Feb 2015, at VFW Post 6097, at 411 Fairgrounds Street, Columbia, KY

By Joe Hare

This will be presented at VFW 6097 tomorrow night and I feel sure it will receive full support. Also there will be an event to get signatures on a petition, locally as well from surrounding counties. I know it will be tough, but if we will put our combined efforts together, this could happen and save many, many vets many miles and dollars.

We have Adair County veterans that have to drive to Clarkson, KY, which is in Grayson County close to Leithchfield, to just see their general practitioner. Think of the gasoline saved if these vets from Adair, Metcalfe, Cumberland, Russell, Casey. and Taylor counties only had to drive half the distance they do at the present. - Joe Hare, Commander

FRANKFORT, KY - Attorney General Jack Conway and nine other state attorneys general from across the country joined in a letter sent to Anthem's president and chief executive officer today, expressing concern that the company's delay in notifying those impacted by the data breach is causing unnecessary added concern to Anthem customers.

"We believe that Anthem must provide details to those customers affected by the breach and tell them how to access the credit monitoring and identity theft protections that the company has said it will provide to them."

If Adair County Veteran Chester Whittingham's dream comes true, a multi county Veterans Administration Clinic will become a reality in Adair County. Adair County Judge Mike Stephens introduced, recalling that he was the originator of the idea to name the Columbia Western Bypass in honor of Adair County Veterans.
