Sir, my Mom's family is from around Glasgow. I remember remember summer trips down from Muncie, Indiana to romp around their farm, which in the early years, had no indoor plumbing. My Uncle Hobbart took me, my brother & Dad to the hotel (probably in 1970?) to the remains of the hotel. It was like everyone basically evacuated the hotel & didn't return for their stuff. Their were hams still hanging, clothes in dressers & everyday items still laying around through the former hotel. Could you provide some answers as to why it was abandoned like this? I've wondered about this for 40+ years. And yes, my uncle tricked me with getting a big drink of the "healthful" sulfur water. Any answers you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
