FM2 July 19, 2014 Close-up: Photographs at the market

By Shamarie Claiborne

I had a chance to take photos at the Farmers Market on the Square, and have put them into an album, along with photos by Janet Parrish and others. It's always a fun place to be, whether to buy Jay's BBQ, produce, or just visit with folks I know, and today, it was a time to celebrate the biggest raffle the ADAIR band has ever had. The raffle winner will have a choice of a Polaris rzr800 or a Ranger800, to be given away at the Mark Twain Invitational Marching Invitational Band Festival on Saturday, August 23, 2014. We had a great day with the raffle ticket sales. The money goes for a great cost - it will help pay our transportation cost to some big events.

FM2 close up: Eggplant makes colorful photo

2014-07-19 - Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne.
I think this eggplant was at the big double-wide Coburg stand. They were behind Jay's BBQ, and had a store full of stuff. Everything was beautiful arranged, and the folks were so friendly. Didn't get a chance to talk to them, they were so busy. There was eggplant at several of the stands. Some were melon shaped like these, and the honey place also had long, cucumber shaped ones which she said were sweeter than the "regular" eggplants. - Shamarie
