Orville Everett May, Russell Co., KY (1928-2014)

He was a native of Moreland, KY, and a resident of Russell Springs, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Lula (Osborne) and Charles Everett May. He was the widowere of Lilie Mae May. He leaves 19 direct living descendants, spanning 4 generations. He was a member of Cold Springs Primitive Baptist Church and worked as a mechanic.

Garry Steven McCubbins, Green County, KY (1951-2014)

He was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of Jefferson County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late William O "Rooster" McCubbins and Pauline Shope McCubbins. His wife of 42 years, Joanna Bagby McCubbins, survives. He leaves 3 direct living descendants. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church. He was a welder and sheet metal worker for Local 110 out of Louisville, KY.

Tuesday night, May 20, 2014, the "This is Art"event had over 100 people present for the viewing. I will have to say from a personal standpoint, it was one of best art shows I have ever attended! The pieces were all light-centered and illuminated the Arboretum. What I think made it even more special was the fact that not only did art students have pieces but students from cross disciplines participated as well.

Jessie Sanchez, a senior at Adair County High School, has wore Purple every Wednesday since he was in the 6th grade. Jessie says it started when his dad gave him an old pair of purple shorts. He wore them on Wednesday of that week, then a few weeks later, Jessie got to thinking and he had wore them every Wednesday. So it became his thing - every Wednesday he wore purple and his ever since.

With Kynect, individuals will find out if they qualify for payment assistance and special discounts on deductibles, copays and co-insurance. Washington County injury accident involves 3 vehicles

Starts with evasive maneuver to avoid hitting vehicle stopped for turn

(Springfield, KY.) - Tpr. Boston Hensley is investigating a collision that occurred at 7:03pmET, on Bardstown Road, 6 miles west of Springfield. 18-year-old Preston Powell, of Lebanon, was eastbound on Bardstown Road, operating a 2014 Chrysler when he sideswiped a westbound 2012 Dodge. The Dodge was driven by 66-year-old Margaret Alford, of Bardstown.

Powell struck the Chrysler as he was making an evasive maneuver to avoid striking a 2010 Chevy operated by Sarah Avritt, of Lebanon. Avritt was stopped in the eastbound lane waiting for an eastbound vehicle in front of her to make a right turn. Powell struck the Dodge and then struck the Chevy.

All drivers and one passenger in the Avritt vehicle, 19-year-old Lauren Avritt, of Lebanon, were wearing seatbelts. Powell was transported by EMS to Springview Hospital where he was treated and released. Sarah Avritt was transported by private vehicle to Springview Hospital where she was treated and released. -TFC BIlly Gregoy, Public Affairs Officer, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
