Comments re photo 41163 Favorite Old Photo Theiss Chevrolet ad Rick Graves writes:
You may not be the right person to ask my question about Theiss Chevrolet. I own a 69 Z-28 Chevrolet Camaro that was purchased new at this dealership. I was in hope that someone had the old records and paperwork from the dealership. I would like to find out for example who purchased the car new, copy of the original window sticker or any items in the folder that may exist. --Rick Graves
Thanks, Rick Graves. We don't have the answer, at hand, but maybe after we post this, one of our readers can offer suggestions. - EW

Wayne Baxter satisfied 1965 date Jerry Lee Lewis at Club 68

Wayne baxter writes:
The bears in the cage under the sign were a gimmick of Hyleme George in his race for mayor of Lebanon. I believe he was elected in November 1965. When this pic first appeared, someone wrote that they had a serious wreck on the way home after that show so he "knew" it was 1965. I am satisfied it was 1965. --Wayne baxter

Columbia Construction/Traffic - May 12, 2014

E Fortune Street residents should plan on remote parking for 4 days or more while Columbia / Adair Utilities District's Downtown Water Replacement Project is under construction.

ColumbiaMagazine.com Special Report

Fortune Street resident Doug Janes called E Fortune Street residents Sunday night, to say that he was passing along word from Barry Stotts of Stotts Construction, Inc., that work on E Fortune Street will make it necessary for residents to park cars elsewhere or risk being blocked by construction which starts this morning:
Today, 7am-5:30pmCT, Monday May 12, 2014, Stotts Construction Company, Inc. will be working on 100 Block of S Reed Street and on the 100-122 block of E Fortune Street in Columbia, KY.
The E Fortune Street work, because of the maze of utility lines on the short street - including fiber optics lines for Duo-County Telecom, Windstream, and gas, water, and sewer lines - will be the most complex of the Downtown Project Phase 14 work, CAUD General Manager Lenny Stone told the Thursday, May 8, 2014 meeting of the CAUD Board of Trustees.
